The RMV9000 is connected to the RTXHDB Gateway
(collector) personal computer via RS-232.
The RS-232 port can be configured to run at up to 19.2K
baud.
A null-modem RS-232 cable between the RMV9000 and the
RTXHDB Gateway (collector) personal computer.
A RTXHDB Gateway (collector) personal computer running
Windows 95 or Windows NT Workstation or Server.
Software
RosemountCom interface software is required on the RTXHDB
Gateway (collector) personal computer.
Notes
Data is requested from the RMV9000 via a Read Item
Dynamic Data command, which is issued in a
continuous loop, collecting data as fast as the RS-232
port can provide it.
Installation
There are no special installation requirements except
that the RTXHDB Gateway (collector) personal computer
must be within RS-232 cable reach of the RMV9000.
Interface
RosemountCom Collection Interface Programs: The RTXHDB
Gateway is connected to the RS-232 port via a null-modem
cable. The RMTCOL program builds a list of point
indexes. It then collects data as fast as the RS-232 can
provide it. For each RTX Historical Database defined, an RMTDATA
task is run to periodically transfer values into the
database. The data is retrieved from memory shared with
the RMTCOL task.
